Occupational Therapy

Our Pediatric Occupational Therapy program helps children develop the essential skills needed for daily activities and independence. We offer specialized therapy for Sensory Processing Disorder, Fine Motor Delays, and Gross Motor Delays. Our experienced therapists provide support for children with Dyspraxia (Motor Coordination Disorder), Developmental Coordination Disorder, and challenges with Bilateral Coordination. We also focus on Handwriting Therapy, Visual Motor Integration, and Executive Function Disorder Therapy to improve cognitive and motor skills. Additionally, we offer ADHD Therapy, Autism Therapy for Sensory Issues, and Self-Regulation Therapy to help children manage emotions and behaviors effectively. Our program also includes therapy for Low Muscle Tone (Hypotonia) and High Muscle Tone (Hypertonia) to build strength and coordination, ensuring that each child receives personalized support for their unique needs.

Pediatric occupational therapy promotes the development of sensory processing abilities, fine and visual motor skills, and self help skills that support a child’s ability to function and socialize in their home, school, play, and community environments.

Occupational therapy addresses difficulties that children have with sustained attention, the ability to transition among tasks or environments, performance of manipulative and handwriting skills, and independence with daily living skills including dressing, feeding and hygiene.

Occupational therapists help families with daily challenges that can interfere with a child’s productive engagement in play, learning and social opportunities. Strategies range from working to create predictable routines to incorporating individualized sensory-based activities and choosing appropriate toys.  In the case of an injury or illness, our services focus on rehabilitating children, allowing them to return to their daily routines at their highest level of function.
